Choosing an egg donor is one of the most personal and meaningful steps on your family-building journey. We know that every detail matters when you’re making this decision, from a donor’s medical history to their individual profile and family background.

At Pinnacle Egg Bank (PEB), we want you to feel confident and empowered as you make your selection. One way we help is by offering insight into which donors are considered “proven donors.”

What Is a Proven Donor?

proven donor is one whose eggs have already contributed to a successful outcome. At PEB, this means one of two things:

  • Successful embryo development has been confirmed, or
  • A patient using that donor’s eggs has achieved a clinically confirmed pregnancy (verified via ultrasound)

This designation gives you an additional layer of reassurance that a donor’s eggs have previously led to success.

How Common Are Proven Donors?

At any given time, approximately 30–35% of Pinnacle Egg Bank’s donor inventory is made up of proven donors. This is a significant portion of our database, providing you with numerous options to choose from if proven status is a crucial factor in your decision.

Because donors often remain in our program over multiple cycles, more donors become “proven” over time, meaning the percentage of proven donors is always evolving.

Why Proven Status Matters

Choosing a proven donor may feel reassuring because it’s backed by historical outcomes. Many patients take comfort knowing that a donor’s eggs have successfully created embryos or led to pregnancy in the past.

However, it’s important to remember:

  • All donors meet strict criteria. Every donor at PEB, whether proven or not, has completed rigorous medical, genetic, and psychological screening before being accepted into our program.
  • Proven status is not a guarantee. While it may suggest a higher likelihood of success, individual outcomes still depend on many factors, including sperm quality, uterine health, and overall fertility plan.
  • Unproven donors are often excellent options. Many unproven donors are early in their donation journey and may become proven donors soon. Their eggs still meet our high standards for quality.

How to Choose the Right Donor

While proven status can be a helpful data point, it’s just one factor to consider. We encourage you to choose the donor who feels right for your family based on her profile, characteristics, and your personal preferences.

Our team is here to guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have about proven donor status or selecting a donor.
