Dr. Frederick Larsen, M.D., is a highly respected Reproductive Endocrinologist with a remarkable career dedicated to advancing fertility care. Having grown up in Virginia, he earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University before completing his medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1994. He then pursued his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, where he was honored as the Outstanding Senior Resident and received national recognition from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for his research contributions. After two years as a practicing OB/GYN generalist, Dr. Larsen began a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University, solidifying his expertise in the field.
Dr. Larsen’s career reached new heights during his tenure as Director of Assisted Reproductive Technologies at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. There, he managed over 400 IVF cycles annually and played a key role in training fellows from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Infertility Fellowship program. As a faculty member for the NIH fellowship, he became a leading contributor to clinical research, focusing on improving IVF outcomes. His research has been widely published and presented at national and international conferences since 1998, earning him recognition as a thought leader in reproductive medicine.
Board-certified in both Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Larsen is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, and the Phoenix Ob/GYN Society. His clinical interests include fertility preservation, in vitro fertilization (IVF), advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgeries (including robotic techniques), tubal reversal surgery, and the legal aspects of reproductive medicine.
Since moving to the Valley in 2008, Dr. Larsen has embraced his deep ties to the region, which date back more than a century. He resides in Ahwatukee with his wife and six children, where he balances his professional dedication with a fulfilling family life.
