Dr. Kurt Peterson, D.O., FACOG, is a compassionate and highly skilled Reproductive Endocrinologist who joined the Advanced Fertility Care team in January 2023, practicing at the Glendale and Scottsdale locations. Driven by a passion for helping others, Dr. Peterson pursued medicine to serve in a meaningful and fulfilling way. He was drawn to the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility because of the hope and possibilities it offers to individuals and families navigating the challenges of infertility. Recognizing the emotional and complex nature of these journeys, Dr. Peterson blends a direct and empathetic approach, ensuring patients receive honest, straightforward information while feeling supported and empowered by the diverse treatment options available.
Dr. Peterson completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University and earned his medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, Midwestern University. He went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Cincinnati. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG) and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOOG). An active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) since 2016, Dr. Peterson also maintains memberships in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG), and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Dr. Peterson has contributed extensively to research in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, with a focus on topics such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), genetics, and the natural history of endometriosis. His work has earned recognition, including the Chairperson’s Research Award from the University of Cincinnati and a research grant from Ferring Pharmaceuticals for developing an endometriosis mouse model. His clinical expertise spans a wide range of areas, including fibroids, minimally invasive surgery, endometriosis, PCOS, social egg freezing, oncofertility preservation, third-party fertility treatments, male infertility, and LGBTQIA+ family building.
Dedicated to providing personalized and expert care, Dr. Peterson is committed to helping patients find the best paths forward to achieve their dreams of starting or growing their families. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys outdoor activities like cycling, hiking, dirt biking, water skiing, and snow skiing, as well as working on home improvement and automotive projects, playing the guitar, and spending quality time with his family. Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Peterson is devoted to making fertility care accessible and inclusive for all.
