Seth Levrant M.D., joined IHR in January of 2022 with years of experience in providing compassionate and highly successful IVF, reproductive endocrinology and infertility care, primarily in Chicago’s southwest suburbs and Northwest Indiana. Dr. Levrant provides individualized treatment plans catered to his patient’s needs, in their quest to build their families.
Dr. Levrant’s practice philosophy combines an academic medical approach with the warmth and comfort of a small private practice environment and fits seamlessly with the expertise and personalized services found at IHR. Dr. Levrant graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Behavioral Biology and received his medical degree from SUNY- Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Levrant completed his OB-GYN residency at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center/Kings County Hospital. Dr. Levrant’s reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship was done at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Levrant’s practice experience includes a large fertility center followed by a solo practice with an IVF lab for twenty years. Dr. Levrant has authored or co-authored twenty peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. His current areas of research include non-invasive techniques to determine the best embryos for transfer and the development of new tests to better determine the normalcy and reproductive function of sperm. Additional areas of interest and expertise include polycystic ovarian syndrome, reproductive surgery, IVF and PGT, and male factor infertility.
Dr Levrant has been married since medical school and has three adult children. He enjoys traveling, is a very amateur photographer, tries to avoid social media and reality TV, but appreciates a good “bad Dad” joke.
Dr. Levrant provides individualized and compassionate care utilizing necessary testing to determine his patients’ best treatment options for their unique circumstances. He strives to support patients in their decision-making by providing robust patient education including explaining the array of treatment options available for them, offering an honest estimate of what success might be with each option, obstacles and challenges that may be present, lifestyle changes that could improve their chance of a successful pregnancy, and guiding them through creating a treatment plan.
